Microcontroller!

KISS8051
Kiss8051 is a somewhat older project. It is a microcontroller development board featuring the 8051 controller. It was born in 2004 at the Berufskolleg Kemnastraße (now Max Born Berufskolleg) in Recklinghausen. With the collaboration of my colleagues Heribert Gierens and Uwe Sieg-Söder, I designed this board to include all the necessary components for practical use. Essentially, these are an 8-bit input option (DIP switches), an 8-bit display (LEDs), an interface for downloading programs, the processor itself, and four 8-bit connector strips for attaching peripherals. My colleague Matthias Kesper programmed a development environment for the board that includes an editor, an assembler, and a downloader. Initially, a serial RS232 interface was implemented for downloading, which was later replaced by a USB connection. This board has been used for a long time in several schools in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) for teaching purposes. At the same time, we have repeatedly offered training sessions for interested colleagues from NRW.
